ReplyDeleteMy number one money saving tip is to use cashback sites.
ReplyDeleteempty your purse of all loose change into a jar once a week, you'll be surprised how quickly you build up a little emergency pot for odds and sods the week before payday!!
ReplyDeleteBring your own lunch to work, rather than spending money on sandwiches etc. It quickly adds up.
ReplyDeletebudget each month! and really make sure you justify spending on anything outside that budget, Do you REALLY need it??

ReplyDeleteKnow thyself. When I was in my teens, I read a collection of Katharine Whitehorn's essays and there was one that particularly impressed me, where she argued that you can afford almost anything you might want, provided you don't waste money on things other people think you ought to want. There are people who look askance at me when I tell them I don't have a vehicle, a smartphone, a TV (or any other service that requires a TV licence) or a hairdryer and I never wear makeup, but the money saved goes into buying the things I do want.
ReplyDeleteAs a student, having all these ways to save money here and there on things I am already doing is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSign up for freebie pages where you can apply for free samples, email companies asking for vouchers and the savings add up
ReplyDeleteMake a meal plan, list your ingredients and only buy what you need, doing it on line prevents any impulse buying
ReplyDeleteset up standing orders to put money into your savings accounts as soon as you get paid. It won't take long before you are used to this amount not being there and you'll have a nice little nest egg building up every month for a rainy day!
ReplyDeletedont spend it or at least budget
ReplyDeleteAlways sleep on a purchase, don't impulse buy.
ReplyDeleteWrite down all your expenditure. Since I've been doing that, I've been seeing where I waste money and as a result, have started to save more.
ReplyDeleteMake a shopping list and always stick too it
ReplyDeleteAlways compare how much you spend on insurances and utilities so you can switch to the best value .
ReplyDeleteMake a monthly budget and that way you can check ingoings and outgoings.

ReplyDeleteEat before you shop and you will be less likely to impulse buy.
ReplyDeleteCreate a savings account and put in any cash you would waste on things like takeaways etc, you will be amazed how quickly it builds

ReplyDeleteDef meal plan, try and use up what’s already in & top up
ReplyDeleteI buy everything in bulk and always search for the cheapest option online.
ReplyDeleteI recently found out about “split ticketing” when using the train. My journey cost about £35 instead of £50 just by buying 4 tickets for separate parts of the journey rather than 1 ticket for the whole journey. Didn’t need to change trains or anything :)
ReplyDeleteGrow your own veg, have fun doing it and only pick what you need when you need it!
ReplyDeleteMend and repair clothes, and only buy quality. The costs of "fast fashion" soon add up.
